Dedicated to the author’s parents, and composed—in both rhyme and free verse—over a span of thirty-five years, the poems in this slim volume are a welcome addition to poetry in English from Pakistan. Finely and delicately crafted, the poems are accompanied with line drawings and reveal an engaging literary asset.
Fauzia Azami Zubair has been working as an educationist for over thirty years after having graduated from the University of Karachi with a Masters in English Literature. She lives in Karachi with her husband, two daughters and a son.

Concentric Circles represents a poetic journey spanning over three decades. In her own words, Fauzia Azami Zubair speaks ‘from the heart’, exploring her more intimate relationships—as a daughter, mother, wife—with restraint and sensitivity. Her involvement with nature is equally moving. This work is marked by a contained emotion, an undeniable lyrical impulse and a deep sense of mystery in the face of life. |
